To help you stay sharp with current events, the arts, and with reading and listening practice in English, we have put together the following list of resources to enrich your learning experiences at home. Keep stretching your minds and expand your worldviews.  As always, know that we are cheering for you!

Stories

These websites offer stories to listen to, read, and watch. Enjoy them! Stories are great practice for your English reading skills and for your listening skills as well.

You can also use them for speaking practice. Below are some ideas:

  • If the text is visible, read along outloud with the reader.
  • Pause the story and try to perform the section you just heard, controlling your volume, tone, and clear English pronunciation.
  • Film yourself with your phone as you read your own story in English. These can be stories you write or stories you find. If you share someone else’s work remember to give them credit! Your teachers, classmates, younger family members, and educators at Mizzou Academy would all love to see these stories.

These websites offer practice and explanations of a variety of English grammar and mechanics skills. Challenge yourself to master skills using a variety of activities, games, and quizzes.
