Course Overview

This course provides a greater understanding of economics ranging from the viewpoint of the individual consumer or small business owner to the global economy. Students will study the law of supply and demand, forms of business organizations, types of economic systems, the influence of financial markets, the importance of global trade, and how to apply economic principals to everyday life.

Course Objectives

Upon the conclusion of this course, the students will be able to

  • Describe how economics affect their daily lives.
  • List the four basic economic questions and describe how societies answer these questions.
  • Explain the factors of economic activity that affect a nation’s economy.

Pacing

This course can be completed in as few as six weeks or take up to 6 months (180 calendar days). The six weeks are counted from the date of the first lesson submission and not the date of enrollment.

Required Materials

No outside textbook is required for this course. Speakers or a pair of headphones (headphones preferred) would be beneficial for reviewing videos.

You are required to take two proctored exams for this course.

Grades

Your final grade will be based on the number of points you earn on quizzes, assignments, and exams.

The following grading scale applies:

B 80–89

F 0–59
