6th Grade Math A

Welcome

We are pleased that you selected this course to fulfill your unique educational needs. You are now a member of the Mizzou Academy's global student body.

Course Description

This course covers the 6th Grade Common Core Math Standards. Students will be provided with a solid foundation in ratios and proportional relationships, the number system, expressions, and equations, converting between fractions, decimals, and percents, and be introduced to how to graph given data as outlined in the 6th Grade Common Core State Standards.

Required Materials

No textbook is required for this course. It is recommended for students to have a dedicated math notebook (spiral or 3-ring binder with notebook paper), graph paper, pencils, and a scientific calculator.

Exams

Midterm Exam

The Midterm Exam is over Lessons 1-5 and 100 points. Your exam has two parts. The first part is multiple-choice.

The second part of the exam will be free-response, and you may wish to print and then upload the assignment. This part of the exam will be 8 problems and will be worth 25 points.

Final Exam

The Final Exam is over Lessons 6-10 and 100 points. Your exam has two parts. The first part is multiple-choice.

The second part of the exam will be free-response, and you may wish to print and then upload the assignment.  This part of the exam will be 13 problems and will be worth 25 points.


Note: Before taking the exams, complete the study guide located in the course modules. Also, refer to Skill Group 10 in our Learning Library.

The Midterm and Final exams are not proctored. You are expected to follow these guidelines:

  • Do not use online material, course material, or other notes to take the exam.
  • Do not navigate away from the exam page during the exam. 
  • Complete the exam in one sitting
  • You do not need any extra materials with you to complete the multiple-choice portions of the midterm or final exams. The free-response portion will require paper, a pencil, and potentially a straight edge or ruler.

Grades

Your final grade will be based on the number of points you earn on assignments and exams.

The following grading scale applies only to students who meet this standard:
