Pacing

This course can be completed in as few as six weeks or take up to 6 months (180 calendar days). The six weeks are counted from the date of the first lesson submission and not the date of enrollment.

This course is asynchronous, meaning you can complete lessons and assignments at your own pace.

Most students spend approximately 10 hours per lesson interacting with course content, participating in interactive activities, and completing practice exercises, as well as drafting and revising assignments, preparing for quizzes and assessments, and taking exams. Your time may vary depending on your goals and learning style.

We encourage you to work at a consistent pace, allowing time to absorb new ideas, build skills, and reflect on what you’ve learned. Use a pacing guide to plan ahead, stay organized, and finish strong. Here is an example pacing guide to help you keep track of target completion dates and points earned!

Course Description

In this course, you will discover the multitude of advantages that come with engaging in a physically active lifestyle. These benefits encompass various aspects of your well-being, including social health, natural disease prevention, and fostering a strong mind-body connection. Ultimately, maintaining a consistent, well-designed, and diligently executed fitness regimen will contribute significantly to achieving a healthy and balanced lifestyle. Along with proper nutrition, exercise plays a crucial role in reducing stress, shedding body fat, promoting lean muscle mass, fortifying bones, and boosting self-esteem. Furthermore, an active lifestyle can enhance social interactions and support mental well-being, which encompasses all three dimensions of your Health Triangle. Once you incorporate a personalized fitness plan (225 minutes per lesson), you can anticipate increased energy levels, muscular strength, endurance,  flexibility, and enhanced cardiovascular health. These benefits often become evident shortly after implementing a reasonable exercise program. Fitness for Well-Being equips you with practical knowledge and the necessary tools to set and achieve these goals. As you begin this course, remember that fitness is a personal journey. The success of any program hinges entirely on your commitment and willingness to take the appropriate actions that are suitable for your individual circumstances. The team at Mizzou Academy is here to support you throughout this transformative journey.
